Smithfield Christian Church is a life-giving family of believers who want to make a difference in our community by loving like Jesus.
We believe every child can start a journey with God, no matter how old they are. Each Sunday, infants through 5th-grade children can experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative, fun, and relevant way.
Today’s middle and high school students will lead the next generation of the church and change the world. At SCC Youth, we have a blast loving one another, learning about Jesus, and growing together as a community.
If it’s your first time at SCC, you are our honored guest. Here are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan your visit.
Where do I go when I get there?
We have guest parking at the front door. After you come in the front door, you’ll be greeted. If you have children, you’ll be shown our children’s classrooms.
Our feel is casual and welcoming for everyone including those who grew up in the church and those who are checking out church and God for the first time.
What do you do for kids?
During our Sunday morning worship, we have a worship time for toddlers through 5th grade, as well as a nursery. We love kids and have intentionally developed safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative, fun, and relevant way.
What is the Sunday service like?
Our Sunday services start at 11:00am and are usually about an hour and 15 minutes, featuring a mix of worship elements each week. Our worship music is mostly modern worship songs, but we also mix in some older songs, including hymns at times. Every week we take time to celebrate communion because we feel it’s a foundation for our reason to worship. You can also expect a sermon lasting 30-35 minutes, which contains a mix of studying through a book of the Bible as well as topical themes.
How have you responded to COVID-19?
- We ask everyone 10 and older, who have not been vaccinated, to wear a mask. Masks are provided if needed.
- Seats in our auditorium have been spaced 6ft apart.
- Hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the building.
- Communion elements have been prepackaged and are available at all seats in the auditorium.
What should I wear?
We want you to feel comfortable when you join us in worship. We have people worship in t-shirts and jeans as well as suits and dresses. Everyone is welcome.
Can I attend if I'm _____________?
Yes! The good news of Jesus is for everyone and we want everyone to have a chance to hear it. People of all denominations, faith backgrounds, and lifestyles are welcome and encouraged to come and worship and grow.
